Chairmakers Chair

Designed by Lucian R Ercolani 1956 Since the beginning of time designers and craftsmen have experienced a profound oftentimes intuitive connection to wood as a building material. Lucian Ercolani echoed this affinity in 1956 with the construction of the Chairmakers Chair a stirring ode to the historic profession of chairmaking suffused with thoughtful crafted details and raw materiality. A paradigmatic example of classic Windsor craftsmanship the Chainmaker Chair features a traditional spindle backrest with eight finely-tuned spindles curved to accommodate the body’s natural contours and provide a supportive comfortable seat.
